ZfdP HORSE GRADING UK 2009
STALLIONS: Saturday, 29th August
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO
DEMAND A STALLION PRE-GRADING INSPECTION CLASS HAS NOW BEEN SET
UP TO RUN ON THE SAME DAY AS THE FULL GRADING. THIS WILL ALLOW STALLIONS EITHER TOO YOUNG FOR FULL GRADING OR
WHOSE OWNERS WISH TO HAVE AN ASSESSMENT AND INPUT FROM THE ZFDP
STALLION JUDGES TO DO SO PRIOR TO SUBMITTING ENTRIES FOR GRADING
IN 2010.
THIS CLASS WILL BE
IN HAND AND LOOSE CANTER ONLY WITH NO LOOSE JUMPING AND NO
X-RAYS OR VETTING REQUIRED. THE COST FOR THIS CLASS WILL BE £105 INCLUDING
STABLING INSTEAD OF £155 AND IT WILL RUN ON THE SATURDAY WHILST
THE STALLION JUDGES ARE THERE. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A
SIMPLE PRESENTATION OF YOUNGSTOCK TO THE BREEDING DIRECTOR ONLY
ON THE SUNDAY. ENTRY FORMS WILL BE UPDATED TO INCLUDE THIS
OPTION AND ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING WEEK OF 17TH AUGUST
AS LONG AS NOTIFIED TO US BY THE BEGINNING OF THAT WEEK.

WELCOME to the ZfdP of Germany's 3rd UK Grading but a
1st for the Stallions which will take place on Saturday,
29th August.
CLOSING DATE FOR STALLION ENTRIES is 17/08/09 -
please contact us if you require entry after this date.
The following FORMS are needed for Stallion Entries:
WARMBLOOD STALLION ENTRIES:
1.
ZfdP Membership Form if not already a member;
2. Stallion Entry Form;
3. Warmblood Stallion Veterinary Certificate to be
carried out no earlier than 17/08/09 with X-ray Protocol
Certificate (no date restrictions on x-rays).
SPECIAL BREED AND PONY STALLION ENTRIES:
1.
ZfdP Membership Form if not already a member;
2. Stallion Entry Form;
3. Special Breeds and Pony Stallion Veterinary
Certificate to be carried out no earlier than 17/08/08 - no
mandatory x-rays (optional).
MARES, FOALS & YOUNGSTOCK:
Sunday, 30th August with procedure as last year - see
below for guidance.

24/08/09 - please contact us if you require entry
after this date.

entries:

STABLING:
For stallions is included with the entry fee from 6.00pm
Friday to 6.00pm Saturday. For mares and youngstock
available as an option. See Entry Forms for
information and costs.
PARKING AND FRIDAY EVENING ARRIVAL:
Boxes can be parked up from the Friday evening close to the
Arena and stabling but please let us know if you are
arriving late as the site will be secured at dusk.
ACCOMMODATION:
There are a limited number of excellent rooms - single
ensuite with shared common room and tea/coffee making
facilities on Campus which can be booked through us @ £25.00
per person per night - on a first come first served basis -
see Entry Forms.

FORMAT FOR STALLIONS
- SATURDAY, 29TH AUGUST:
All
original Papers including Passports and Veterinary Forms
must be presented at the Entries Office in the main arena
before commencement of Grading:
Morning:
Trot up on hard ground with final vet check.
Into Arena for
parade with other stallions in hand.
Exit Arena and
box until enter again (numbered order) for
assessment without other horses.
Walk, trot in
hand and canter on the triangle (may be loose
cantered).
Opportunity to talk with judges.
Optional under
saddle walk, trot, canter and possibly jump (4
years plus).
Exit Arena and box.
Late
morning/Afternoon:
Enter Arena without other horses (in order of
presentation numbers) for loose jumping
(3 jumps in loose
jumping lane which will start low and owner can
choose how far to progress)
Final Assessment from judges. Exit Arena and
box.
Loose Jumping:
More detailed format will be published and sent
out to entrants shortly:
For special breeds jumps start at approx. 60 cms
and go up in 5-10 cms stages.
For Warmbloods start at approx. 110 cms and go
up in 5-10 cms stages.
Final in-hand group parade in Arena with Premium
Awards and rosettes presented.
Stallions will be
required to remain until the end of the grading.
A
performance test will be required within 15
months subject to breed and competition record.

FORMAT FOR MARES,
FOALS & YOUNGSTOCK - SUNDAY, 30TH AUGUST:
All
original Papers/Passports must be presented at the Entries
Office in the main arena before commencement of Grading:
Mares with
Foals will be shown first. Mares already graded with
ZfdP will not be charged an entry fee but can be presented
with their foals. Foals may be run loose.
Morning:
All based in Arena.
Individual assessment by Breeding Director.
In-hand presentation at walk & trot on the
Triangle (which was last year a square but this
year will be the traditional ZfdP Triangle).
Loose canter. Opportunity to talk to
Breeding Director. Presentation of
Rosettes/Premium
Afternoon:
Branding of foals will take place at the rear of
the Arena with Herr Brittze who is an authorised
Branding Officer for the ZfdP. This is
optional in the UK as a microchip will be
accepted as an alternative and branding is at
the discretion of the owner. Branding will be
invoiced directly from Germany together with any
registration and passporting costs - see 2009
ZfdP Cost Schedule.

PREPARATION OF
HORSES/PONIES:
Horses and Ponies should be prepared and presented as
they would for showing in the normal manner. Guidance
is that horses should be plaited unless part of a breed
where alternatives are normal or presented with natural
manes and tails. However this is not mandatory and the
horses will still be judged if presented without plaiting.

only up front payments at time of entry by cheque to the
organisers are Entry Fees, Stabling and any Accommodation
to be booked at Moulton College.

Membership, Horse Registration, Passports and Branding
for Foals will be invoiced separately from Germany after

2. Entries:
All entries must be on the official entry form and all boxes
must be completed.

5.
Papers:
Copies
of papers/passport & pedigrees should be attached to entry
form. Original MUST be produced before horse can be
graded on day. Any originals sent by post should be
sent by recorded delivery/signed for. |

Any entries received after these dates may be eligible but

7.
Knabstruppers:
All Knabstrupper entries will receive
associate membership of the UK Knabstrupper Association (EU
recognised and Defra approved Breed Society and UK Stud Book
holder for Knabstruppers in the UK). To upgrade to

8.
ZfdP Membership:
All Entrants must be either existing members of the ZfdP of
Germany or must complete a ZfdP Membership Application form
and send by post to the address given. Any costs will be
invoiced directly from the ZfdP in Germany.

9.
Advertisements:
Entrants can place a free
advertisement in the grading programme by sending a jpeg
picture/wording by eMail to
zfdpgrading@btinternet.com
or by post to the entry address with photos or by fax -
although this will not include colour photos. Fax
number is 01572 723109 - to be received no later than
Friday, 21st August, 2009. The advertisement must
relate to the Entrants horse(s) or stud and information
about them and the organisers reserve the right to refuse
entry if not deemed appropriate. Advertisements will
be up to ½ page of A5 maximum. any advertisements
placed are totally the responbsibility of the advertiser and
the UKA & ZfdP cannot accept any responsibility for any
incorrect or misleading content.

10.
Branding:
ZfdP branding is not necessary for horses/ponies already
registered or branded with other societies. Foals must be
microchipped under UK Law and this will be accepted by the
ZfdP as an alternative to branding which is not compulsory
in the UK. Branding costs will be invoiced from
and must be settled directly with the ZfdP of Germany.

11.
Publication of Results/Privacy/Data Protection:
The ZfdP UK Grading
organisers reserve the right to publish results and pictures
from the grading on this site and to include in a newsletter
relating to the grading. Please state at time of entry
if you do not wish any information or pictures to be
published.
The UKA Data

12.
Dress Code:
Dress code will be
standard ZfdP of black trousers/skirt, white top and
comfortable shoes.
|

13.
Presentation of Horses/Ponies:
Horses/ponies will
be presented individually on the triangle at walk, trot and
canter as instructed by the judge. Loose cantering may
be used and there will be stewards available to help with
this. Foals can be loose shown. Stallions can be
shown under saddle but this is not compulsory at this stage.
It will take place during the required Performance Test
which must follow within 15 months - requirements dependent
upon Breed - see 'Performance Tests.'

14.
Performance Tests - STALLIONS:
Graded Stallions must attend a Performance Test normally
within 15 months of the date of grading (although this can
be waived if the ZfdP are satisfied that there is sufficient
competition results to be taken as an alternative).
The Performance Tests are currently run by the German
Government and the UK is looking to establish a German
compliant testing centre at one location in the UK
initially.

15.
Judges:
Stallions:
will be judged by a panel of 3 experienced and qualified
stallion judges from Germany (see Introduction to Judges
above). Stallions will be shown in hand and loose jumped for
this grading but there is an option to present them under
saddle as well (4 years plus only). This will
still require to be followed up by the appropriate
Performance Test or Performance Record within 15 months.
Mares & Youngstock:
will be judged by
Herr Hans Brittze - Breeding Director of the ZfdP of Germany
who is also a member of the ZfdP & Trakhenen Stallion
Commission.
